I don't know about you, but recently I've been glued to the news; it's, weirdly, provided some structure over my day. However, we also need to be critical and understanding of how media is made, and why the information is provided to us in the ways it is.

Airhead by Emily Maitlis is a memoir about the making of news, and is actually a really interesting and accessible way to approach some of these questions; how are interviews prepared for, and in which context do they take place? Why do journalists make certain judgement and ask particular questions, which we may sometimes not agree with?

Maitlis, as the anchor of Newsnight, has seen it all and has such an interesting story to tell. She tells it with trademark humor, ease and confidence to discuss the news and it's relevance to all the biggest life events.
